Malcolm Pearce

Malcolm Pearce Malcolm Pearce was born in Bournemouth and was a quirister at Winchester College. He studied at London University and the Royal College of Music, winning the top prize for organ performance and gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists in his final year. Whilst a student he was a founder member and co-director of Gli Amici Della Musica, a unique youth orchestra and choir which continues to this day to be run and administered solely by its young members. Since 1981 has been Director of Music at Magdalen College School. As a composer he has undertaken commissions from a number of choral societies and other organisations (such as the St Alban’s International Organ Festival) and his work has been published, recorded and broadcast on Radio 3. He is the founder of Canzonetti, a vocal consort whose repertoire ranges from madrigals to Cole Porter and he lectures on music for the National Trust.
